Brad Pitt and Adam Sandler to team up for new Noah Baumbach film

January 3, 2023 by EJ Moreno

While details are limited, we will soon see the unlikely duo of Brad Pitt and Adam Sandler on screen together.

In a new story from the New York Post, the outlet says their sources have Pitt and Sandler circling a new movie from Noah Baumbach. The project is part of the filmmaker’s exclusive multi-year deal to make films for Netflix.

Little is known about the project, with the New York Post stating it will simply star the two powerhouses and will be Baumbach’s follow-up to his most recent movie, White Noise. Baumbach penned a deal with the streamer in 2021, shortly after Marriage Story was nominated for six Oscars and won Best Supporting Actress for Laura Dern.

His latest White Noise is sadly not faring as well as Marriage Story; the film starring Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig got mixed reviews and is only seeing a tepid response on the awards circuit.

Pitt and Sandler both saw releases in 2022, with Sandler dropping Hustle on Netflix and Pitt offering up two films: Bullet Train and Babylon. Bullet Train made $239.3 million worldwide and had a solid debut on Netflix, though Pitt’s other film Babylon is not off to a great start.

During the 1990s, both Brad Pitt and Adam Sandler rose in popularity. Pitt was known as the heartthrob movie star, and Sandler packed houses almost every year in the 90s with his signature brand of comedy. As they led very different careers, these two stars have never starred in a project together. In 2019, they had an Actor-On-Actor conversation for Variety.
