The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gets May release date, new trailer and Collector’s Edition

It will be time to save Hyrule again as Nintendo announced the anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on the Nintendo Switch May 12th, 2023 in a newly revealed trailer showcasing gameplay, new vehicles, tools, enemies and locations. In addition, a Collector’s Edition and new amiibo have been revealed as well. Watch the trailer below…

Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, one of the franchise’s most well regarded games for its innovative gameplay and extensive world. The sequel will pick up sometime after the first game as Link must once again battle Ganon as he sends his forces forth to destroy Hyrule.

The base game will cost $70 US while the Collector’s Edition will be $130 US. It includes the game, a steelbook case, an artbook, an Iconart steel poster and a set of four pin badges.

The Link amiibo will feature the Hero of Time in his new outfit and come with downloadable materials, weapons and an exclusive fabric for his paraglider.
