Search for the Precious with The Lord of the Rings: Gollum story trailer

March 24, 2023 by Gary Collinson

Daedalic Entertainment and NACON have announced that the hotly-anticipated third-person adventure game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is set to release on PC, PlayStation and Xbox in May.

Putting players into the shoeses of the fan-favourite character, the story-driven game takes Gollum on an epic and perilous journey across J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth in search of The Precious, and allowing players to choose whether to yield to the darker side of Gollum or trust the kinder gentler hint of Sméagol.

Check out the new story trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum below…

Athletic and agile, sneaky and cunning. Driven by the desire to once again hold in his hands what he lost, Gollum is one of the most fascinating characters in the world of The Lord of the Rings.

He has seen things that others cannot imagine; he has survived things that others would not dare mention. Torn by his split personality, he can be vicious and villainous as Gollum, but social and cautious as Sméagol.

While being vital to the story by J.R.R. Tolkien, many parts of Gollum’s quest have not been told in detail yet. In The Lord of the Rings: Gollum you get to experience this story. From his time as a slave below the Dark Tower to his stay with the Elves of Mirkwood.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is set for release on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on May 25th, with a Nintendo Switch version planned for later in the year.
