Giancarlo Esposito joins Radio Silence’s Universal Monsters movie

From Breaking Bad to Star Wars, Giancarlo Esposito is now set to join Radio Silence’s upcoming Universal Monsters movie.

The currently untitled film is “in the vein of Universal’s recent films like The Invisible Man and Renfield, this untitled monster thriller provides a unique take on legendary monster lore and will rep a fresh, new direction for those classic characters.”

Esposito joins a cast that includes Melissa Barrera (Scream VI), Alisha Weir (Matilda: The Musical), Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey), Kevin Durand (Locke & Key), Angus Cloud (Euphoria), Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania) and Will Catlett (A Thousand and One).

The film will be directed by Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The pair most recently directed the latest installments in the Scream franchise with last year’s Scream and this year’s Scream VI.  The script for their Universal monster flick was written by Stephen Sheilds and Guy Busick. Producing is Radio Silence’s Chad Villella is alongside Project X Entertainment’s William Sherak, Paul Neinstein and James Vanderbilt.

The untitled film has a release date of April 19th, 2024.
