Fox has had early talks about a King of the Hill revival

August 9, 2017 by Gary Collinson

It looks like the beloved animated series King of the Hill could be set to join the likes of The X-Files, 24 and Prison Break, with Fox Chairman and CEO Dana Walden revealing that the network has had talks about reviving the show.

“We have had preliminary conversations with Greg Daniels and Mike Judge,” Walden tells Variety. “I would like to explore that. We had a very preliminary conversation about that. Given what’s going on in the country, I think they had a point of view about how those characters would respond. It was really just a first, exploratory, ‘Are you excited about this?’ They were both excited about it but they’re both very busy individually so it’s about finding time.”

King of the Hill ran for 259 episodes between 1997 and 2009, and revolved around the Hills, a Texan family headed up by Hank Hill, a hard-working and traditional family man. It won a number of awards during its run, including Emmys for Outstanding Animated Program and Outstanding Voice-Over Performance (Pamela Adlon).
