Just three weeks after its premiere, HBO Max has already given a second season renewal for The Sex Lives of College Girls from Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble.
“Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble have created and written a show that is full of heart, female friendships, and awkward naked parties,” said Sarah Aubrey, HBO Max’s Head of Original Content. “We are delighted that this comic, honest portrayal of the college condition has resonated for everyone, whether they had sex in college or not. We can’t wait to see where these uniquely complex yet relatable characters will go next.”
The announcement comes as the first season’s final two episodes are set to air on the streaming service tomorrow, December 9. There is no word yet on when the second season will begin development and production.
The Sex Lives of College Girls follows “four college roommates as they arrive at New England’s prestigious Essex College. A bundle of contradictions and hormones, these girls are equal parts lovable and infuriating as they live out their new, free lives on campus.”
The series stars Pauline Chalamet (The King of Staten Island), Amrit Kaur (The D Cut, Anarkali), Reneé Rapp (Mean Girls on Broadway), and Alyah Chanelle Scott (The Book of Mormon).
