Having popped up for his customary cameo in virtually every Marvel movie from 2000’s X-Men through to the upcoming Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it seems that comic book legend Stan Lee is now lobbying for a role in Warner Bros.’ next DC movie, the Man of Steel sequel Batman vs. Superman.
“I’ll show you why DC isn’t so smart,” said Lee at the Wizard World Nashville Comic Con this past weekend (via ComicBook). “If I were the head of DC, I would contact me and say, ‘How about doing a cameo in the next Superman movie?’ Can you imagine? Nobody would believe it. Everybody would go see it.”
Of course, given the box office figures for Batman and Superman’s last few movies, it’s a pretty safe bet that plenty of people will be going to see the hotly-anticipated team-up between Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight and Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel anyway. Still, Affleck needs a new Alfred… why not his Mallrats and Daredevil co-star?
Batman vs. Superman is set for release on July 17th 2015, with a cast that also includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.
