Shortlist of actors for The Fantastic Four reboot emerges

October 10, 2013 by admin

Last week came the news that X-Men veteran Simon Kinberg (X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past) has been brought in to overhaul the script for The Fantastic Four, leading to speculation that 20th Century Fox could struggle to meet its planned March 2015 release date for Chronicle director Josh Trank’s live-action reboot. Well, it seems that the script issues hasn’t prevented the studio from pushing ahead with casting for Marvel’s First Family, with a shortlist of possible contenders emerging via Hollywood trades Deadline and Variety.

Along with the previously revealed Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) – who is said to be “the only name being mentioned as a possibility” for Johnny Storm / The Human Torch – it’s said that Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) and Jack O’Connell (300: Rise of an Empire) are testing for the role of Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic alongside another previously mentioned candidate Miles Teller (21 and Over), while Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones), Kate Mara (American Horror Story) and Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) are in contention for Susan Storm / Invisible Woman. No word yet on any potential names for Ben Grimm / The Thing, but if casting is in full swing then I’m sure plenty of rumours will be forthcoming..

What are your thoughts on these candidates for the Fantastic Four? Let us know in the comments below…
