Daniel Craig clarifies infamous “slash wrists” comments and teases another James Bond film

November 5, 2015 by Tom Beasley

Daniel Craig has clarified his now infamous comments regarding his James Bond future after Spectre in an interview with Today, saying that he will “maybe do another one”.

At the start of October, Craig made worldwide headlines when he told Time Out that he would “rather slash my wrists” than do another Bond film right now, despite the fact he is reportedly contracted for one more film as the iconic spy.

“If you’re 200 hundred yards from the end of a marathon and someone comes running up to you and says, ‘Are you gonna run another marathon?’ there’s two words you use,” the star said in clarification.

He later discussed how much fun he had making Spectre, which has already been breaking box office records in the UK ahead of its US release on November 6th.

He said: “I’ve had a wonderful, wonderful time making these movies, and maybe I’ll make another one – I don’t know.”

The only certainty here is that there will be continued speculation around Craig’s future as James Bond and who will ultimately replace him, whether it’s Idris Elba (Beasts of No Nation), Tom Hardy (Legend) or someone else entirely.

Eon knows where they can contact this writer if they need someone to drive an Aston Martin around corners too quickly.
