Gale Anne Hurd adapting Lore podcast as anthology series

April 21, 2016 by Gary Collinson

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd is teaming up Propagate Content for a TV adaptation of the popular podcast Lore.

Created by Aaron Mahnke, Lore explores the true origins of pop culture’s most legendary horror characters and myths such as vampires, zombies, werewolves, ghosts, serial killers and witches and has over 2 million listeners each month.

The site reports that the series will take the form of an anthology show, presenting a different “lore” each week via “a blend of narration, historical mixed media and cinematically shot scripted scenes featuring top talent”.

“I’m excited to partner with Propagate on this truly thrilling and disturbing project,” states Hurd. “Lore is the real stuff that should keep you up at night.”

“Serial inadvertently created a completely new playground for storytelling and intellectual property,” adds executive producer Brett-Patrick Jenkins. “Aaron Mahnke is the Stephen King of podcasting,”
