Hitman: Agent 47 producer teases development of a Just Cause movie

May 12, 2016 by admin

2016 is a big year for the video game movie adaptation with a whopping four being released. We’ve already seen Ratchet & Clank and The Angry Birds Movie, Warcraft is out very soon, and earlier today we got our first look at Assassin’s Creed. With so many video game adaptations in some form of development, it looks like one is getting on to the production board.

Adrian Askeriah , the producer behind Hitman and last year’s Hitman: Agent 47, has taken to Twitter to tease development of his long-gestating Just Cause movie.

Askeriah purchased the rights to Just Cause in 2010 and announced last year that the film would be based on Just Cause 3: Scorpion Rising – which is where this image is taken from. In an interview with IGN, the producer noted that the movie’s development would depend on the box office performance of Hitman: Agent 47, which didn’t do all that well, however this tease suggests he’s making some headway with the adaptation.

Along with Just Cause and Hitman, Askeriah also has the rights to a Kane & Lynch movie and Deus Ex, the latter of which he has spoken about being part of a ‘Square Enix Shared Universe’ with Just Cause and Hitman.
