Rumour: James Franco wanted for Shane Black’s The Predator

July 17, 2016 by Gary Collinson

With Shane Black’s The Predator deep in pre-production ahead of its February 2018 release, Jeff Sneider is reporting on Meet the Movie Press that James Franco is being lined up for the lead role in the franchise revival.

Franco is the first name to be rumoured for the cast of The Predator, although Arnold Schwarzenegger has suggested on several occasions that he’s set to meet with his Predator co-star Black about a potential return as Dutch, while 50 Cent also claimed back in April that he’d joined the film. This should be treated as a rumour at present, although Sneider does have a solid track record when it comes to casting scoops.

Originally thought to be a reboot of the franchise, Black has since confirmed that The Predator will be a sequel, set some 30 years after the original movie. It is set for release on February 9th 2018.
