Warner Bros. reportedly in “active development” on a Man of Steel sequel

August 8, 2016 by Gary Collinson

It looks like Superman could be taking to the skies once again, as The Wrap is reporting that Warner Bros. is in “active development” on a sequel to Man of Steel.

According to the report, “Superman is a top priority for the studio and getting the character right for audiences is of tantamount importance.”

Details in the report are vague, and there’s no word as to whether Warner Bros. plans to bring back Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder, who is currently directing Henry Cavill in next year’s Justice League.

A Man of Steel sequel has long been rumoured, and Warner Bros. does have two untitled DC movies slated for October 5h 2018 and November 1st 2019, one of which is expected to be filled by Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie.

Warner Bros. is yet to comment on the report, so given that it comes from El Mayimbe – who had a pretty awful track record with his Suicide Squad scoops – Superman fans may want to wait for an official announcement before getting too excited.
