The Uncharted movie script is now finished

January 9, 2017 by Jordan Jones

The Uncharted movie has had more than its fair share of setbacks, but it looks like things are finally going to start picking up steam! Joe Carnahan, who is writing the screenplay, recently posted this to his Instagram:

“Done and Dusted.

Now the REAL work begins.

If there’s a more monstrously cool action script in Hollywood right now, I wanna read it, ‘cuz this thing is a BEAST.”

While it’s nice to hear that he is confident in his script, it’s hard not to be a bit cynical when it comes to video game movies these days. Predictably, comments under his post share similar DNA:

“Please make it good, for once I want a good video game movie”

“Please don’t fuck it up”

“Dude, you have an ENORMOUS responsibility! Don’t mess it up, please!”

… Obviously, gamers are a bit wary. We’ve been burned time, and time again. It would be great to have an awesome video game adaptation, but it really hasn’t happened yet. Some have came close (Silent Hill, Assassin’s Creed), but none have really lived up to the games that they are based on. Could Uncharted finally be the movie adaptation that does things right? With Mark Wahlberg out of the picture, who would you like to see play Nathan Drake?

… You can find Jordan on Twitter (@JordJJones), and Facebook.
