The X-Files creator Chris Carter returning to TV with The After

October 4, 2012 by admin

Chris Carter (The X-Files, Millennium) and Georgeville Television are set to collaborate on a new television series called The After. According to Deadline, The After is a thriller that revolves around a mysterious unexplained event and incorporates elements of science fiction, suspense and real-world fear and paranoia, so fans of the original X-Files series should be in for a treat.

Georgeville CEO Marc Rosen said “Chris has woven his mythology magic within a very human, grounded story about the moment when we realize all of our worst fears about the world and its future,” It appears Georgeville Television have a lot on their current roster as they are also financing a remake of the cult homegrown sci-fi series Blake’s 7 from director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Edge of Darkness) for Syfy, as well as Sense8, a supernatural series from the Wachowskis (The Matrix).

The After will mark the long awaited return for Chris Cater to television following the hugely popular X-Files series starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, which ran for nine seasons and spawned two feature films. Chris also created the shorter lived TV series Millennium featuring Lance Henriksen, which ran for only three seasons.
