Recalling the two part episode “A Piece of the Action” and “Batman’s Satisfaction” which brought together Adam West’s Batman and Burt Ward’s Robin with Van Williams’ Green Hornet and Bruce Lee’s Kato, DC Comics is set to partner up with Dynamite Entertainment for the comic book crossover Batman ’66 Meets the Green Hornet.
The 12-part bi-weekly digital-first series will launch in May, with Kevin Smith set to pen the story alongside Ralph Garman, and Ty Templeton handling the art. The series will serve as a “lost” sequel to the 1967 live-action crossover, with the two crimefighting teams once again squaring off against Colonel Gumm, now promoted to General.
“It’s like getting to be 5 years old again and tell stories that you would have made up while watching the show as a kid,” Smith tells USA Today. “To be able to do it, man, it really does bring it full circle in a bucket-list kind of fashion.”
Batman ’66 Meets the Green Hornet will go on sale digitally from May 21st and in print from June 4th.
