Agent Carter to premiere in January 2015

May 19, 2014 by Gary Collinson

ABC and Marvel Studios have announced that Agent Carter – the upcoming series centred around Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter from Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier – is set to get underway on the network in January 2015. The show is set for eight episodes and will reportedly air during the mid-season break of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers.

Agent Carter has been written by Captain America screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely with Reaper creators Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas set to serve as showrunners.
