An Underworld reboot is in the works

August 28, 2014 by James Garcia

The vampire/Lycan war wages on, as THR reports that Lakeshore Entertainment is moving forward with a reboot of the Underworld franchise, only two years after the latest installment of the series.

Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will produce along with Underworld and Underworld: Evolution director Len Wiseman, while Priest and The Last Witch Hunter scribe Cory Goodman will pen the new screenplay.

Details about the reboot are scarce, though it’s being reported that the new film may be called Underworld: Next Generation and focus on Eve, the daughter of original franchise protagonists Selene (Kate Beckinsale) and Michael (Scott Speedman). If true that means that the film won’t be a typical “reboot,” and may exist within the continuity of the previous installments, though both Speedman and Beckinsale are not expected to return.

As always, we’ll have more information on the Underworld reboot as it becomes available. Until then, sound off about your thoughts in the comments below.
