Hitman: Agent 47 pushed back by six months

October 16, 2014 by Thomas Roach

Hitman: Agent 47’s release date has been pushed back by six months. The original release date was February 27th, 2015, but the movie is now set to arrive on August 28th, 2015. There is no clear indication why the film has been delayed but the change of release date may mean a better chance at box office success.

Based upon the popular video game series, the film is a reboot to the Hitman movie  that came out in 2007, which starred Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47. Paul Walker had originally been set to play the character in the reboot but after his tragic death last year Rupert Friend was cast instead.

Hitman: Agent 47 sees Aleksander Bach directing a cast that includes Rupert Friend (Homeland) as Agent 47 alongside Zachary Quinto (Star Trek Into Darkness), Hannah Ware (Boss), Thomas Kretschmann (Dracula), Dan Bakkedahl (Legit), Emilio Rivera (Sons of Anarchy), Rolf Kanies (The Countess), Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) and Jeffy Hoffman (Shahada).
