Bruce Campbell still hoping for an Expendables-style horror ensemble

March 20, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Way back in 2010, Bruce Campbell brought up the prospect of an Expendables-style horror movie, which would bring together a host of famous names from the genre in the form of a sequel to 2008’s My Name Is Bruce, which was going by the title of Bruce vs. Frankenstein.

Since then, we’ve heard very little about the potential project, but as he prepares to return to the role of Ashley J. Williams for the upcoming Starz series Ash vs Evil Dead, the cult icon has offered an update on the status of the horror ensemble during an interview with MovieWeb.

“Never say never. I have a script that I’m working on that would pretty much be that. It’s not ready to share at this point. It’s in the pipeline I guess you could say. I’ve always wanted to do the Expendables of Horror type movie. Because I always run into all my horror buddies at conventions. It would be fun to do a movie that pretty much has all of them in it.”

Campbell was also asked if he’d be open to appearing in Sylvester Stallone’s Expendables series if the opportunity presented itself, stating that: “If I wasn’t doing Ash vs Evil Dead for Starz this year, I could consider it. You know, the Expendables seems like it’s fun. I haven’t seen the movies, but…conceptually I like that idea. There’s a lot of ways you could go with it. That’s a great idea for a TV show.”

Would you like to see Campbell heading up an Expendables-style horror, and who should join him in the cast?
