Fox and Hasbro developing live-action Play-Doh movie, Paul Feig in talks to direct

April 3, 2015 by Gary Collinson

According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox has struck a deal with Hasbro to develop a live-action film based upon the toy brand Play-Doh, with Jason Micallef penning the script and Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) in talks to direct.

Hasbro’s most recent branded offering was the supernatural thriller Ouija, based upon the board game, while upcoming projects include Jem and the Holograms, Magic the Gathering and G.I. Joe 3, as well as a potential “shared universe” of Transformers spin-offs and sequels.

As yet, there’s no further details on the Play-Doh movie, but it does raise two questions: 1) How on Earth are they going to craft a story from this?, and 2) Who is Melissa McCarthy going to play?
