Isla Fisher joins cast of director Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals

September 11, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Deadline is reporting that actress Isla Fisher (The Great Gatsby) has joined the cast of Nocturnal Animals, the sophormore film from acclaimed director Tom Ford (A Single Man).

Fisher joins an already stellar line-up in the film, which is led by Jake Gyllenhaal (Southpaw) and Amy Adams (American Hustle), who are joined by Michael Shannon (Man of Steel), Armie Hammer (The Man From U.N.C.L.E.), Aaron-Taylor Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Kim Basinger (L.A. Confidential).

The film was up for sale at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, for which Focus Features paid a cool $20 million for the worldwide rights, one of the biggest the festivals has ever seen.

Adams plays “Susan Morrow, who, out of the blue, receives a package containing the manuscript of her ex-husband’s first novel. As she reads, she is drawn into the fictional life of Tony Hastings (Gyllenhaal). As his ordinary life is violently set off course, Susan is forced to confront her own past.” Fisher plays Tony’s wife laura who “travels with him and is in the car during an altercation he has that puts their family in danger.”

Nocturnal Animals is set for release in 2016.
