UPDATE: Jared Leto says “f*ck ’em” to Warner Bros., reportedly felt “tricked” into Suicide Squad

August 17, 2016 by Robert Kojder

Jared Leto has again distanced himself from Suicide Squad, reportedly telling fans at a Q&A that he was “sort of tricked” into the movie and about his general unhappiness about having scenes cut.

An excerpt from a Jared Leto Tumblr fansite report from Camp Mars (via Batman-News) reads “He was very honest about the film this weekend; his disappointment in what he’s learned of the theatrical cut (he’s still not seen the film); feeling sort of tricked into being a part of something that had been pitched to him very differently; thinking it would’ve been more artistic than what it became; feeling overwhelmed by the hate regarding the look and choices…”

In the video below, Leto also speaks about Warner Bros. restricting him from partaking in dangerous activities during filming he enjoys such as rock climbing, proclaiming “Fuck ’em”

UPDATE: The fan who posted the original comments has now deleted the post, and shared a response claiming that their comments were taken out of context…

To be fair to Batman-News, they reported exactly word for word what the fan originally wrote. Now, maybe I’m wrong here, but if you don’t want your quotes to be “taken out of context”, it’s probably not a good idea to post that he discussed “his disappointment in what he’s learned of the theatrical cut” and “feeling sort of tricked into being a part of something that had been pitched to him very differently”, otherwise people might actually think that’s what he talked about.

It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
