Fargo and Legion showrunner Noah Hawley sets up two feature film projects

February 21, 2017 by Amie Cranswick

After his small screen success with Fargo and Legion, Noah Hawley is certainly hot property at the moment, and Deadline is reporting that he has now set up two feature films at Fox Searchlight.

First up is Pale Blue Dot, a sci-fi which has Reese Witherspoon attached to star as an astronaut who returns to Earth from a mission in space, where she finds herself slowly beginning to unravel and losing touch with reality. The project is based upon a spec script from Brian C. Brown and Elliott DiGuiseppi.

In addition to Pale Blue Dot, Hawley is also developing a drama entitled Buried Bodies, which is inspired by the Lake Pleasant Bodies Case of the 1970s, where two attorneys were faced with an ethical dilemma of upholding attorney-client privilege after being informed by their client, an accused murderer, about the location of two missing bodies. Choosing to withhold the information from the police until one of them was threatened by their client following a prison escape, the attorneys found themselves vilified by the victims families and ostracised by the community due to their staunch commitment to their oath.

Hawley’s X-Men series Legion is currently airing on FX, while the third season of Fargo is set to premiere in the Spring.
