Drew Goddard to direct Bad Times at the El Royale

March 11, 2017 by Amie Cranswick

Deadline is reporting that Drew Goddard has sold his spec script Bad Times at the El Royale to 20th Century Fox, and will direct and produce the movie. Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps.

Goddard’s sole feature directorial effort to date was on 2012’s The Cabin in the Woods, while his screenwriter credits include Cloverfield, World War Z and The Martian, the latter of which saw him nominated for an Academy Award.

In addition to Bad Times at the El Royale, Goddard is also currently working on the Fox sequel Deadpool 2, having signed on to assist Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick with the screenplay.
