Iron Fist has recently come under fire for a number of reasons; if reviews are to be believed, it’s nowhere near the gold standard of previous Marvel-Netflix collaborations, while many have accused the show of whitewashing, due to the decision to cast a white actor, Finn Jones, in the title role.
Co-star Jessica Henwick came to the aid of Jones during an interview with The Daily Beast, stating: “Look, I am Asian. I am Asian and I am an actor. If anyone understands, it’s me. I have faced it in my career. I’ve been working eight years and I’ve experienced it firsthand, the disparity when it comes to Asian representation — even more than that, Asian misrepresentation. But I also have seen what Finn’s done in this role and I honestly, honestly think that he smashes it out the park.”
Meanwhile, Finn Jones has gone on to blame everyone from critics to Donald Trump for the less than stellar initial reactions to the show. We’ll be able to find out for ourselves when Iron Fist hits Netflix tomorrow.

Marvel’s Iron Fist hits Netflix on March 17th and sees Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) leading the cast as Danny Rand alongside Jessica Henwick (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Colleen Wing, David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings) as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup (90210) as Joy Meachum, Tom Pelphrey (Banshee) as Ward Meachum, Rosario Dawson (Daredevil) as Claire Temple, Carrie-Anne Moss (Jessica Jones) as Jeri Hogarth, Wai Ching Go (Daredevil) as Madame Gao and Lewis Tan (Mortal Kombat: Legacy) as Zhou Cheng.
