Luke Cage star Mike Colter has signed on to appear in the cast of Universal Pictures’ sci-fi thriller Extinction, where he joins Michael Pena (Ant-Man), Lizzy Caplan (Allied) and Israel Brossard (The Bling Ring).
Extinction is being directed by Ben Young (Hounds of Love) from a script by Eric Heisserer (Arrival), Spenser Cohen (Moonfall) and Bradley Caleb Kane (Black Sails). Specific plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film will see Pena as a man trying to protect his family during an alien invasion.
Colter will next be seen on the big screen in Universal’s Girls Trip, while he also reprises his role as Luke Cage for Netflix’s upcoming Marvel team-up The Defenders.
