Aquaman casts a young Arthur Curry

May 6, 2017 by Gary Collinson

With production now underway on Aquaman, it is being reported that Warner Bros. and director James Wan have cast Australian child actor Otis Dhanji as a younger version of Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry.

According to Screen Rant, Dhanji is playing the future King of Atlantis aged 13, and will be shooting for six days. It’s said that he will feature in two key sequences, one to be shot in May and the other in August. Presumably these will be flashback scenes exploring Aquaman’s origin, or perhaps a prologue of sorts at the beginning of the movie.

Aquaman is being directed by James Wan (The Conjuring) and stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero, reprising his role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, along with Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry and Otis Dhanji as a young Arthur Curry. It is set for release on December 21st 2018.
