Director James Wan announces start of production on Aquaman

May 3, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Some good news for the DC Extended Universe, as Aquaman is seemingly still on schedule, with director James Wan sharing on Twitter that the blockbuster has started filming. All reports had indicated that shooting would get underway at the beginning of May, which is good for the studio considering that upcoming projects such as The Flash and The Batman failed to stick to their original schedule.

Aquaman is being directed by James Wan (The Conjuring) and stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero, reprising his role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, along with Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry. It is set for release on December 21st 2018.
