Iron Man and Nick Fury expected to join Avengers: Infinity War’s ongoing Durham Cathedral sequence

May 9, 2017 by Robert Kojder

So far, the massive Durham Cathedral sequence for Avengers: Infinity War has seen a number of big names joining the action, including Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk) and Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), and now according to a source divulging information to Chronicle Live, Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) are expected to drop in on the festivities.

Not much information is available on what is going on over there in Durham, but we do know that the same Asgardian statue that Thor saw in his nightmare vision during Avengers: Age of Ultron was spotted on set, so it’s a pretty solid bet that it has some relation to that sequence. A stand in for Rocket Raccoon also appeared in some set photos, so it looks like it is bringing in characters from all corners of the MCU.

Let us know your thoughts below in the comments on what you make of this seemingly extravagant spectacle the Russos are piecing together for Avengers: Infinity War…

Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th 2018 in the UK and May 4th 2018 in the US and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Solider), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Sean Gunn (Rocket) Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Samuel L.
