Rumour: Sony’s Silver & Black to set up an all-female Avengers-style Spider-Verse team-up

June 3, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Last week it was announced that Sony is moving forward with its Black Cat and Silver Sable movie Silver & Black, tapping The Secret Life of Bees director Gina Prince-Bythewood to helm the all-female Spider-Man spinoff.

The news was followed by a rumour from Splash Report, who claimed to have some alleged – and unconfirmed – plot rumours and character details for the movie, and now the site has posted another report, which suggests that Sony is looking to use the movie to launch an all-female Avengers-style team-up featuring characters from the Spider-Man universe.

According to this “hot rumour” – which, as always, should be taken with a grain of salt – Silver & Black “is the setup for an all female Spidey-verse team movie. It ends with Silver Sable (a la Nick Fury) rounding up a team of The Black Cat, Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman), Charlotte Witter (Stunner), Sarah Ehret (Jackpot) and Cassie St. Commons (Dusk).”

Are you excited about the prospect of seeing these Spidey characters teaming up for an all-female ensemble? What do you make of the rumours roster of characters? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
