Don Cheadle says Avengers: Infinity War will feature a “somewhat bionic” War Machine

July 17, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Hot on the heels of the exclusive Avengers: Infinity War footage that was shown at the D23 Expo panel over the weekend [read a description here], stars of the blockbuster Marvel Cinematic Universe are popping up talking about their roles in the much-anticipated superhero extravaganza.

Don Cheadle’s War Machine did not make it out of Captain: America: Civil War unscathed; he ended up severely injured following the big airport showdown between the Avengers. However, thanks to some futuristic technology it appears that the character will once again be in the thick of the action.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Cheadle said: “When you have somebody like Tony, who is a master of tech and can create things that can get you over the hump then you can walk again. I don’t know that I’d like to use the word [artificial], I like fake… It’s an augmentation. It’s somewhat bionic. I’m like Lee Majors but I’m like the Twelve Million Dollar Man. Sixty Million probably by 2018 with inflation.”

Are you excited about the prospect of seeing War Machine back in action in Avengers: Infinity War, or does his return cheapen the stakes? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th 2018 in the UK and May 4th 2018 in the US and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Sean Gunn (Rocket) Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Samuel L.
