Game of Thrones made its hotly-anticipated return this past Sunday night, with the season seven premiere ‘Dragonstone’ shattering a number of ratings records for HBO.
The episode pulled in a whopping 16.1 million viewers across all HBO platforms, including repeats, streaming and DVR, up 50% from the season six opener from 2016.
In overnight ratings, the episode was watched by 10.1 million viewers, topping the season six finale to become the most-watched episode according to Nielsen numbers. Viewers also took to Twitter to share 2.4 million tweets, making it the most-tweeted episode of all time.
