Although Uncle Ben was absent from Spider-Man: Homecoming, you’d have to assume there’s a chance we could get to meet the character through a flashback at some point during Spidey’s time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and if so, Tom Holland knows exactly who he’d like to see taking on the role.
“I kinda want Tobey Maguire to play Uncle Ben, I think that’d be super funny, but I don’t think he’ll do it,” said Holland during an appearance on BBC Radio 1.
Maguire did of course portray Peter Parker in Sam Raimi’s original Spider-Man trilogy, and given that he’s now in his early 40s, it could certainly fit should Marvel and Sony decide to go down that route. However, while it would be a nice nod to the earlier movies, the likliehood does seem quite low…

New additions to the cast include Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Bokeem Woodbine, Tyne Daly, Michael Barbieri, Abraham Attah, Hannibal Buress, Kenneth Choi, Angourie Rice, Michael Chernus, Michael Mando, Logan Marshall-Green and Jennifer Connelly.
