It enters 2017’s top 5 at the domestic box office

September 27, 2017 by Samuel Brace

It has made its way into the top 5 highest grossing films of 2017.

The horror sensation doesn’t appear to be slowing down as it continues to break records and rake in vast quantities of cash at the box office.

It has recently become the highest grossing domestic horror film of all time, moving past The Exorcist, and now the Stephen King adaptation has entered 2017’s top 5 at the US box office.

After just two full weeks of release, It has claimed $266 million domestically, surging ahead of Despicable Me 3 which sits in sixth spot with $261.8 million.

This comes off the back of another solid weekend for It, in which it accumulated $29.7 million, finishing in second place for the weekend behind Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

It is currently a fair way behind fourth spot in the 2017 rankings, which is presently held by Spider-Man: Homecoming with $331 million. Though, It is $16 million ahead of where Homecoming was at the same time of its release.
