Original Colossus actor returning for X-Men: Dark Phoenix

September 20, 2017 by Samuel Brace

The actor that originally played the mutant Colossus will be returning for X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Daniel Cudmore portrayed the character in the original X-Men movies before being replaced by Stefan Kapičić for the R-rated comedy hit Deadpool in 2016.

But according to an exchange Cudmore had on Instagram back in July, he is going to be back for the next X-Men team up adventure, suggesting he was filming scenes. This, of course, led to speculation that the actor was returning as Colossus, but Cudmore refused to comment at the time.

Well, now, thanks to a question asked of Cudmore on Twitter about his role in the movie, we have a little extra news, with the actor saying: “I can’t comment on what character I’m playing, sorry…”

While we don’t have a clear answer from the actor on who he will be portraying, it would seem unlikely that he’ll be portraying Colossus, given that Dark Phoenix takes place in the First Class timeline, while Colossus is also returning for Deadpool 2, with Kapicic back in the role..

Speculate away.
