Former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista has enjoyed a very successful transition from the squared circle to the big screen, appearing in blockbusters such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Spectre and Blade Runner 2049. And now it seems he’s gearing up to headline his own franchise.
According to Deadline, STX Entertainment is teaming up with Bautista to develop a new action comedy franchise for him to headline. Details are being kept under wraps, but the project will see Bautista producing alongside Jonathan Meisner and Drew Simon.
Bautista is currently shooting Marvel’s Avengers 4, and has numerous projects incoming, including Avengers: Infinity War, Hotel Artemis, Escape Plan 2: Hades, Escape Plan 3: Devil’s Station, and the Ip Man spinoff Ip Man Side Story: Cheung Tin Chi.
