Sophie Turner says Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere in 2019

December 7, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner has said that the show’s final ever season will debut in 2019.

If folks thought the wait between seasons six and seven were long – season seven arrived in the summer of this year instead of the usual spring window – they won’t enjoy the wait for the show’s conclusion.

One of the stars of the series, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in the hit fantasy HBO series, mentioned the 2019 release date in a recent interview with Variety.

After touching on a number of other topics, such as how far along in production season eight is (Turner says there are about six or seven months left), the actress was asked if she was excited for 2018.

“Yeah, I’m really excited. Game of Thrones comes out in 2019. X-Men: Dark Phoenix is in November. Then I have a couple indie movies coming out. I’m a producer on my next movie [Girl Who Fell From the Sky]. So I’m really excited about the future.”

So there you have it. Pack a lunch, everyone. We’ve got a while to wait yet.
