Adam Scott returning for Big Little Lies season 2

February 28, 2018 by Ricky Church

Another familiar face is set to return for the second season of HBO’s Big Little Lies. Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) will reprise his role as Ed Mackenzie, the husband of Reese Witherspoon’s Madeline, for the upcoming season.

In season 2, Ed will be forced to confront major challenges in his marriage to Madeline. Scott joins returning stars Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz. Meryl Streep (The Post) will be introduced in the season as Mary Louise Wright, the mother to Alexander Skarsgard’s Perry Wright from the first season who is searching for answers about what really happened to her son.

The subversive, darkly comedic drama Big Little Lies will explore the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode, and the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom.

The second season of Big Little Lies is being written by David E. Kelley from a story by author Liane Moriarty, while Andrea Arnold (American Honey) has signed on to direct all seven episodes. It is expected to air in 2019.
