Jonathan Frakes reveals that young Spock will appear in Star Trek: Discovery season 2

April 18, 2018 by Gary Collinson

With the U.S.S. Enterprise making its debut in the season one finale, and the recent news that Anson Mount (Inhumans) has been cast as Captain Christopher Pike, there’s been a lot of speculation that Star Trek: Discovery will incorporate the classic Trek character Spock into its second season.

Well, we now have confirmation that the character will feature – a young version, at least – with Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Jonathan Frakes revealing that a young Spock will feature in flashbacks in the second episode of season two, along with a young version of his adopted sister Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin Green).

It remains to be seen whether we’ll be getting an older version of the character alongside Captain Pike on the U.S.S. Enterprise, but at this point it certainly seems highly likely and with filming on season two due to get underway this month it wouldn’t be a surprise if we get some official casting news in the very near future.
