Dave Bautista confirms his return for Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

May 30, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Dave Bautista has confirmed that he will be returning for Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Bautista was one of the stars of the year’s biggest film, Avengers: Infinity War, reprising his role as Drax after playing the role twice in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

Those who have seen Infinity War will be well aware that Drax doesn’t make it out alive, succumbing to the villainous Thanos. But, as many have suspected, the deaths we saw in Infinity War aren’t likely permanent and Bautista has now confirmed that he will be appearing in Avengers 4 and the third Guardians movie.

Speaking to Collider, Bautista said: “I got a lot of texts saying, ‘I can’t believe you’re dead, your character is dead. They were really like heartbroken and I was like ‘I’m gonna be in 4. I’m gonna be in Guardians 3.’ I don’t know how they’re bringing me back, yeah but somehow I’m going to make it because, as far as I know, I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back.”

Well, there you have it. This could be considered major spoilers but as Bautista pointed out in the same interview, he has spoken about filming Avengers 4 already, so he doesn’t think Marvel will be too upset with him.
