Alternate reality tanking fun coming later this June with World of Tank: Mercenaries

June 7, 2018 by Andrew Newton

World of Tanks on console will be going through it’s biggest change ever when Update 4.5 deploys on the 26th June and Mercenaries are introduced.  World of Tanks: Mercenaries will be the largest expansion the game has seen.  To see more on this epic new update watch the trailer below…

World of Tanks: Mercenaries will introduce players to an alternate reality where the endless wars have caused a power vacuum resulting in the formation of a brand new Mercenaries ‘nation’ where soldiers and civilians will no longer fight for a flag but for themselves.  This new nation will have its own tech tree of never before seen vehicles comprised of parts scavenged from the wreckage of vehicles of other nations.  Five vehicles will be available at launch but this will rapidly expand over the coming weeks and months.

To introduce players to this alternate reality, developers Wargaming have created a thrilling new PvE story campaign called The Heist, an action packed story of espionage, tank battles and nuclear ambitions.

As well as the new story campaign, World of Tanks: Mercenaries will provide additional maps to multiplayer battles along with an array of fan favourite maps ravaged by war and time.

What do you think to this update?  Do you like the merging of sci-fi’s alternate realities with the historical battle game that won your heart? Share your thoughts in the comments below…
