Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Stolen Picture developing two YA series

June 3, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Stolen Picture, the new production company from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, has launched a new initiative entitled Rights Incubator, which aims to work with up-and-coming writers on various young adult projects.

First out the gate from the initiative are two potential series, We Never Sleep, “a detective comedy-thriller that will tackle bullying, justice, morality, mental health and post-Brexit small-town life,”; and Chemistry, “a fast-paced genre hybrid that will pose questions about what it means to be human as the show follows protagonists on the run for their survival.”

“Time and again, we’ve found that our projects – be they comedy, horror, sci-fi or straight drama – are speaking to YA audiences and so we wanted to ensure that authentic YA voices were at the heart of these projects,” said Stolen Picture’s executive Miles Ketley.

In addition to We Never Sleep and Chemistry, Stolen Picture is set to release its first feature Slaughterhouse Rulez this summer, and is also working on a half-hour paranormal comedy Truth Seekers.
