Harrison Ford to join Call of the Wild

July 17, 2018 by Matt Rodgers

With his legacy characters at the end of their journey (Han Solo, Rick Dekkard), and Indiana Jones and the Infinite Delays pushed back to 2021, Harrison Ford is looking to step away from the nostalgic resurgence by headlining 20th Century Fox’s adaptation of the classic Jack London novel, Call of the Wild.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that Ford will take the reins for How to Train Your Dragon and The Croods co-director, Chris Sanders live-action debut, which will tell the tale of an Alaskan sled dog named Buck, who is stolen from his owner and sold into service as a working dog. Ford has been linked with the role of John Thornton, who was one of Buck’s final masters.

Call of the Wild is set to shoot later this year, with 20th Century Fox setting a December 25th, 2019 release date.
