MTV and Universal team up for How High sequel

July 1, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

The cult stoner comedy How High is set to receive a straight-to-video sequel courtesy of MTV and Universal 1440 Entertainment, Deadline has revealed.

According to the site, the sequel has been penned by Artie Johann and Shawn Ries (Family Guy), and follows two young, business-savvy stoners embark on a pot-filled odyssey through Atlanta to find their missing weed, only to uncover a vast government conspiracy.

Filming on the as-yet-untitled sequel is slated to get underway in Atlanta in late summer, with Shauna Garr, producer on the original movie, serving as executive producer.

Released in 2001, How High starred Method Man and Redman as two underachieving stoners who fertilise a new batch of marijuana with the ashes of their recently deceased friend, who then appears as a ghost and helps them achieve a perfect test score on their college exams, resulting in their entry to Harvard.
