Swamp Thing will be a standalone series with no connection to Titans or other DC Universe shows

July 22, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in May it was announced that Aquaman director James Wan is developing a live-action Swamp Thing series, which will air on the new DC Universe streaming service alongside the likes of Titans, Doom Patrol and the recently announced Stargirl.

We know that Titans and Doom Patrol will be connected, the latter being a spinoff of the former, and with all of the various shows under the DC Universe umbrella, there’s been some speculation that they’ll go down the Arrowverse path of a shared TV universe.

However, it seems that won’t be the case – at least, not with Swamp Thing, as DC’s Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee has confirmed to CNET that it will take place in its own world, and that “we have no mandate to tie everything together.”

Are you disappointed that we won’t have any cohesion between Swamp Thing and the other DC Universe series, or do you like the idea of DC keeping its various TV projects separate? Let us know in the comments below…
