Update for Middle-earth: Shadow of War brings new content and changes

July 17, 2018 by Andrew Newton

A brand new update has arrived for Middle-earth: Shadow of War which features a host of improvements and fresh new content plus a good amount of bug fixes to ensure all players have the best gameplay experience to date.

Possibly one of the more welcome changes for players in this latest free update is the removal of the Market and microtransactions.  The market has been replaced with an updated Garrison menu where you can access Garrison Orcs, Chests, Training Orders and Boosts.  Mirian can now be located here and used to train, upgrade and customise the Orc army.  The Garrison is also where captains recruited during Online Vendettas and Ranked Conquests can be found.  Finally for the Market, any unspent Gold currency has been converted into Gold Loot Chests.

Renamed the epilogue, the post-campaign now includes new dialogue from Shelob, the Witch-king and Dark Talion plus victory will reward players with the Masks of the Nazgûl which unlocks powerful new abilities to raise the dead, curse enemies and summons more powerful creatures.

The follower level cap has been increased to level 80 and continuing to earn XP after this stage earns additional skill points although enemy orcs can now reach level 85.  New Prestige Skills are also now available after Act III and will offer incremental upgrades to skills.

Last but not least are the new skins that allow players to appear as Celebrimbor from the first War for Mordor or as Dark Eltariel.

For a full list of changes with this latest update visit the official site here.

The update is available for all formats now.
