First trailer and poster for Green Book starring Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen

August 14, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, the first trailer, poster and images have debuted for the upcoming drama Green Book. Directed by Peter Farrelly, the film is based on the true story of the classical pianist Dr. Ron Shirley (Mahershala Ali) and his chauffeur Tony Lip’s (Viggo Mortensen) tour of the American South in the 1962.

Set in America in 1962, Green Book tells the heart-warming true story of Tony Lip (Viggo Mortensen), a working-class Italian-American bouncer who takes on a job as a chauffeur for Dr. Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali), a highly-educated African-American classical pianist. The mismatched pair embark on a two-month tour of concert venues in the racially charged deep south and discover they’re on the road to a meaningful and unique friendship.
