Karl Urban still interested in playing Judge Dredd in Mega-City One

September 5, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Karl Urban has revealed that he still wants to return to the role of Judge Dredd in the Mega-City One TV show.

Judge Dredd is certainly a character that still retains great resonance with audiences today and the announced TV series, Mega-City One, is a great example of that even if the 2012 film Dredd didn’t knock over the box office.

The star of that film, Karl Urban, has professed interested in returning to the famous role and has revealed that he is still up for being a part of Mega-City One. Speaking to TrekMovie, Urban says that while he isn’t currently involved with the show, he hopes that changes:

“I’m not attached to it, although I did have a preliminary round of conversations with them. I am interested in doing it. There are a lot of great stories to tell there. It is up to them. I don’t know really where they are in the stages of development. If I get the opportunity, great, otherwise someone else will do it, and we can all see some more Judge Dredd. I did read the comics when I was a kid, as I teenager I read Judge Dredd a lot.”

Are you hoping that Urban returns to the role? Or perhaps there is an actor out there that is even more suited to the part. We will have to wait and see what way the in-development show goes.
