Margot Robbie and Matthias Schoenaerts join Justin Kurzel’s Ruin

September 8, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Screen Daily is reporting that Margot Robbie (I, Tonya) and Matthias Schoenaerts (The Danish Girl) are set to star in the World War II thriller Ruin, which is being directed by Macbeth and Assassin’s Creed helmer Justin Kurzel.

The film is based upon the Black List script by Ryan and Matthew Firpo, and will see Robbie taking on the role of a Holocaust survivor who is forced to team up with a former S.S. captain (Schoenaerts) to hunt down members of his former Nazi death squad.

Filming on Ruin is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2019, once Margot Robbie completes work on her Harley Quinn return in DC’s Birds of Prey.

Robbie will next be seen in opposite Saoirse Ronan in Mary, Queen of Scots and is currently shooting Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, where she plays Sharon Tate.
